Debra Jo Sosa of Artesia, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Debra was born on June 9, 1957, in Artesia, New Mexico, to Marcelino and Vera Sosa. She spent her life surrounded by family and friends, creating lasting memories through her kindness, strength, and love.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Daniel Rubio, Benjamin Sosa (Isela), and Roman Sosa (Vanessa); her sister, Betty Lawson (Jesse); her brother, Terry Sosa (Jo); and her cherished best friend, Elvira Olguin.

Debra's greatest joy was her family, especially her eight grandchildren: Donaven, Damen and Dionicio Rubio; Nevaeh, Benjamin Jr., and Nehemiah Sosa; and Roman Jr. and Alfredo Sosa. They brought immense happiness to her life and will forever treasure the love and memories they shared with their grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcelino and Vera Sosa, and her brothers, Freddy Sosa and Marcelino Sosa Jr.

Debra enjoyed watching football and basketball and was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Lakers. Whether cheering on her favorite teams or spending time with those she loved, she found joy in life's simple moments.

Debra will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her warm heart, and the many lives she touched throughout her life. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Debra's life will be held at Trinity Temple in Artesia, New Mexico, on July 23, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend as they gather to honor and celebrate her life.
