Memorial rosary and mass are scheduled for 9:30 and 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 2nd at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Damian A. Herrera of Artesia, New Mexico.

Damian Herrera, 19, died Monday, September 25, 2017 in Artesia.

Fr. Frances Lazer will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Damian was born August 25, 1998 to Benjamin Herrera and Rachel (Valencia) Herrera in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He was a lifelong Artesia resident.

Damian worked as a warehouse associate and was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed computers, graphic designing, music production and loved to fish and spend time with his family.

Survivors include his parents Benjamin and Rachel Herrera of the family home; sister Martika Herrera of Artesia; girlfriend Mikayla Lasiter of Dexter, N.M.; an unborn child; grandparents Clorinda and Anselmo Aragon of Artesia, and Lupe and Anselmo Herrera of Artesia; great-grandmother Maria Hernandez of Artesia; aunts Maria Valencia of Reno, NV, Ramona Williams and husband Antwone of Artesia, and Lori Sarabia and husband Michael of Artesia; uncles Anselmo "Moe" Herrera, Jr. and wife Dina of Odessa, TX and Steve Herrera and wife Isela of Midland, TX; numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and friends; and a fur baby sister Tatiana.
