Memorial services are scheduled for 10am Friday December 29 at First Baptist Church in Artesia NM for Coby Lane Collums. Coby passed away Thursday December 21, 2023 in Hereford Texas at the young age of 24. Coby was born March 7, 1999 in Carlsbad NM. He was raised in Artesia where he proudly graduated high school as an Artesia Bulldog playing baseball and football. From the time he was five years old Coby was the biggest Nascar fan and knew every driver by heart. After graduation he moved to Amarillo Texas where he met the love of his life Berkli Furr. He started working for Aggression Paintball for a short time. That is where his passion for paintball grew. He became part of the team and traveled and played in many Paintball tournaments around the state of Texas.
Coby always had the biggest smile on his face for everyone he came in contact with. He was goofy and funny and loving and would do anything he could to help out a friend and was always there for his family. You could always find Coby at home on Sundays with friends watching the Nascar race where he would cheer on his favorite driver, Chase Elliott. Coby always had a love for golf that he got his brother and cousins into as well, almost every time Coby came home you could find him on the golf course with his brother.
Coby is preceded in death by his grandfather Arnel George Collums.
Survivors include his mother, Nina Collums, brother Colton Marquez, grandmother Alta Collums, three nieces, Kallyhan Terry, Emmalyn and Cayten Marquez, uncle Arnel Ray Collums, cousins Trevor and Trenton Collums, and extended family the Collins family.
We hope you have found the best paintball range the best golf course, and the best seat to the Nascar races that could ever be found.
