Christopher Lawrence Duran, 44, passed away on September 20, 2026, at Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family. A lifelong resident of Artesia, New Mexico, he was born on December 5, 1981.

Christopher enjoyed life day by day, bringing a calm and easygoing presence to everyone around him. He lived at an unhurried pace and found his happiness in the simple joys of everyday life. His home was a welcoming place where friends and family could stop by to share music, laughter, and conversation without judgment.

He spent his life surrounded by the people who cared for him and anchored by the love and companionship of his partner, Cynthia Morales. Christopher will be remembered for his free spirit, his deep love for his family, his loyal friendship, his humor, and the good times he shared so freely.

He is survived by his parents, Stella and Lazaro Chavez; his sister, Crystal Bravo; his partner, Cynthia Morales; his children, Kasey Devito and Anthony Gonzalez; as well as his extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Manuel R. Duran and Epifania M. Duran.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are those closest to him: Robert Bueno, Gabriel Bustamante, Micha Aguilar, Josiah Bravo, Alex Salinas, and Arnold Gonzalez.

Services will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Artesia, New Mexico:

Rosary: 9:30 AM

Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM

Directly following the Mass, Christopher will be laid to rest at Woodbine Cemetery. All who knew and cared for Christopher are invited to gather and honor his memory.
