Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, November 15, at Faith Baptist Church for Charles Edward LaRue of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. LaRue, 86, died November 12, 2019 in Artesia, NM.
Pastor Michael Elliot will officiate at the services. Burial will follow the services at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Charles was born April 11, 1933 in Blount County, Alabama to Oliver LaRue and Plummer (Hansard) LaRue.
CE was an avid business man that put God and family as his first priority. He loved helping the community and sport teams were his highlight for many years. He was a Dallas Cowboy fan until the end.
All his employees were never thought of as employees but rather family. He never met a stranger and you were always able to get a good story or a laugh from him. He made friends in all walks of life. He loved helping a people.
He worked in the oilfield from a roughneck to owner operator and loved all of it. He still loved hearing all the stories and helping people fix work issues regardless if he was asked or not.
He loved fishing and golfing and sharing his life with others. He lived a great life that will be missed.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brother Carroll LaRue; and a sister Linda Hill.
He is survived by his wife Wanda of the family home; son Eddie LaRue of Artesia; daughters Charlotte Brewer of Loving, N.M., Cindy Johnson of Artlington, TX, Rhonda Mojica of Garland, TX, and Melissa Acosta of Hubert, North Carolina; sisters Cheryl Buchanan of Booneville, Arkansas, and Patsy Norris of Gladewater, TX; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
