Candelario Torres

Mass service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Candelario "Lalo" M. Torres of Artesia, NM. Fr. V.J. will officiate the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. A rosary will be recited preceding the service at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace. Visitation will begin Thursday at 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Terpening and Son Mortuary.

Our beloved father was called home to our Lord on June 13, 2025, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Lalo was born on May 12, 1935, in Picacho NM; the son of Antonio and Plajeres (Montoya) Torrez. On July 29, 1961, he married the love of his life, his late wife of 56 years Ramona Fierro Torres in Artesia, NM.

He was a loving and devoted husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa who loved his family infinitely and unconditionally. He was a very hard worker. Lalo served 4 years in the U.S. Army, and he worked for and retired from the Gas Company of New Mexico. He had a passion for life and for his family; and will be greatly missed.

Lalo was preceded in death by his parents, son Antonio "Tony" Torres, sisters Emma Brijalba, Martha Chavez, Dora Mendoza, Rufina Herrera, Brother Ralph Torrez, and son-in-law Robert Nord.

Survivors include sisters Isabelle Tavarez, Orlidia Vincent, sisters-In-law Hope Torrez and Barbara Harris, daughters Leslie Nord, Gloria Perez, Yolanda Murray and husband Michael, and daughter-in-law Denise Dominguez. Grandchildren Crystal Perez, Eric Mesquita (Corina), Serrina Gonzalez and husband Abraham, Israel "Bumperz" Perez, Joseph Garcia and wife Hope, Christina Murray, Candelario "Lalo" Torres (Courtney), Janet Nord and husband Joe Walker, Monica Nord, and Eric Nord (Kourtney). Great Grandchildren Santana Perez (Vanessa), Caesar Baca, Nehemiah Baca, Apolonia Baca, Abraham "Abie" Gonzalez, Natalia Gonzalez, Isabela Gonzalez, Brandon Lee, Leah Nord, Emma Nord, Mya Nord and Liam Clontz.

Our family would like to give a loving and sincere thank you to Eric and Azalia Tovar and their daughters Jazlene and Mia, who adopted our family and took special and loving care of both our parents throughout their life. We will forever be grateful.

We would also like to thank the nurses, nurses' aides of Enhabit Home Health who lovingly provided care to our Dad and support to our family.
