Bobbie Winkle

Graveside services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Upper Hope Cemetery for Bobbie Jo Van Winkle, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Van Winkle, 78, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Lubbock, Texas.

Bobbie was born November 19, 1933 in Weed, New Mexico the daughter of George Munson and Lunye Mae Fisher Munson. She was a longtime Hope and Artesia resident.

On June 17, 1950 she was married to A. J. Van Winkle in Alamogordo, NM. He preceded her in death April 16, 1986.

She was a dietary manager at Artesia Good Samaritan for 15 yrs and a member of Clark Memorial Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, a sister, and 2 sons.

Survivors include daughter Sue Sleeman of Carlsbad, NM 7 grandchildren Markette Karr, Michael Newton, Craig Newton, Grady Newton, Cara Pierce, Jami Van Winkle, and Neal Van Winkle 8 greatgrandchildren 2 greatgreatgrandchildren sisters Lenora Harlin of Albuquerque, NM and Lucy Wimberly of Belen, NM.
