Bob Allen Plummer

Bob Allen Plummer, 79, was called home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2026, passing peacefully at his home.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Terpening Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, April 24, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Rick Plummer, Robert Plummer, Robbie Burgess, George Chumbley, Curtis Williams, and Harmon Jurney. Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Brown and Dwane Parrish.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jillana Burgess Plummer; sons, Rick Allen Plummer of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Robert Dean Plummer (Marsha) of Crossville, TN; brother, Bill Plummer of Wichita Falls, TX; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Phil and Jalane Brown of Capitan, NM, and Robbie and Tina Burgess of Artesia, NM; along with multiple nieces and nephews, and his beloved fur baby, Emmy Lou.

Bob was born July 31, 1946, in Lyons, KS, to Richard and Eva Plummer. He moved to Artesia in the early 1960s, graduating from Artesia High School in 1964 and remaining a lifelong Bulldog. He attended Bethany Nazarene College and earned a degree in electronic engineering from Cleveland Institute in 1986. He worked for Omeda Medical/GE in Albuquerque and as a Sears appliance repairman for 20 years before retiring in 2008.

He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972 during the Vietnam War-once a sailor, always a sailor.

Bob was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, raised Assembly of God and a member of First Baptist Church for 22 years. He was active in Emmaus, Sunday School, Artesia Car Club, and Goldwing Riders Club.

Known for his humor and storytelling, Bob was a jokester, a social butterfly, and someone who never met a stranger. He loved motorcycles, T-buckets, his red electric scooter, traveling, and fixing anything as the family "toolman." He loved to scuba dive and explore the ocean.

Bob will be deeply missed, but his legacy of faith, laughter, and love will live on in all who knew him.
