Arturo Lopez

Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m., April 23, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Arturo A. Lopez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Lopez, 71, died April 19, 2019 in Artesia, NM.

Burial will follow the services at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Patrick Lopez, Andy Lopez, Daniel Aguilar, Fred Salcido Jr., Fabian Anaya, and Christopher Lopez. A rosary is also scheduled for 6;30 p.m. Monday, April 22, at Our Lady of Grace.

Visitation will be at Terpening and Son Mortuary from 10 a.m. to4 p.m. Monday.

Arthur was born October 25, 1947 in Artesia NM to Pedro Lopez and Herminia Lopez.

He was a longtime resident of Artesia. On November 4, 1968 he was married to Dolores Hernandez in Artesia. She preceded him in death on June 1, 2015.

Arturo was an auto mechanic for many years before he retired. He attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church and loved fishing, hunting, hanging out with his friends and watching his grandchildren in all of their activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Pedro Lopez, Jr.

Survivors include his son Alvino Lopez and wife Lourdes of Artesia; daughters Amy Sharpe and husband Ty of Moorhead, Minnesota, and Sonya Lopez of Artesia; brothers Alonzo Lopez of Albuquerque, N.M., Armando Lopez of Roswell, N.M., Johnny Lopez of Artesia and Mario Lopez of Artesia; sister Vangie Anaya of Espanola, N.M.; grandchildren Patrick Lopez, Andy Lopez, Danielle Lopez, Kadyn Sharpe, and Daniel Aguilar.
