A memorial service will be held for Alma Cardeen Landcaster at a later date at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

Alma, 85, passed away on September 15, 2026, in Roswell, New Mexico. She was born on December 17, 1940, to Harlow Andrew Pool and Decie Mae (Bryant) Pool in Shamrock, Texas. Alma married Donald Ray Landcaster on January 10, 1958. They moved to Artesia and made it their home in fall of 1959.

She found immense happiness in cooking for her family, often bringing them together around the dinner table to share meals, stories, and laughter. Alma had a special fondness for playing cards and dominos, a testament to her playful spirit and love for friendly competition.

A true lover of nature, Alma enjoyed fishing and had a talent for catching fish. It is comforting to imagine her casting lines in peaceful waters, continuing her passion in heaven. She also had a love for hunting, further nurturing her connection with the great outdoors.

Alma was a woman of faith who deeply loved the Lord, finding solace in gospel music which filled her heart with joy. Her spirit will undoubtedly make heaven a better place.

Alma is preceded by her spouse Donald Ray Landcaster, son Donald Gene Landcaster, parents Harlow and Decie Pool, brother Barney Pool, sister Carolyn West, and brother Harlon Pool.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Carl of Midland, TX, grandsons Keigan of Dallas, Kooper Carter of Dallas and Karson Carter of Dallas, brother David Pool and wife Ellen of Amarillo TX, several nieces and nephews. Dear and special friends Marie Birch and Loretta Coddington.
