A viewing will be held for Agapita Porras Herrera from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00 pm. A funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Our Lady of Grace, immediately followed by the interment at Woodbine Cemetery. Fr. A.L. Vijaya Raju will be officiating.
Honored to be pallbearers will be Kenneth Herrera, Bo Williams III, Federico Huerta, Steven Ray Huerta, Isaiah Alvarado, Angelo Silvas, Gerardo Gutierrez, and Izaiah Trujillo.
Agapita (Mamapita) was a God-loving woman who devoted her life to her family. She was a kind, genuine, selfless, and strong-willed woman. Her presence was a gift to everyone who knew her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a way of bringing joy and laughter into the world. She filled every room with warmth and made people feel loved simply by being herself. She found happiness in sewing, tending to her rose bushes, baking, going for car rides, getting ice cream, and spending time playing cards with her grandkids. Her love and memories will forever remain in the hearts of her family and everyone who were blessed to know her.
Agapita (Mamapita) is preceded by her husband, Federico Herrera; son, Manuel Herrera; mother, Chena Gutierrez; father, Bernardo Porras; brothers, Ramon Porras, Francisco Porras, Alfredo Gutierrez, Jose Gutierrez, Ruben Gutierrez, and Jesse Gutierrez; sisters, Jovita Sotelo, Gloria Casares, and Margaret Tellez.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Socorro Huerta, Yoli Herrera, Mary Ann Rodriguez and husband, Adiel; grandchildren, Peggy Jo Jimenez, Kenneth Herrera, Manuel Huerta, Steven Huerta, Michelle Silvas, Sebastian Huerta, Bianca Gutierrez, Jasmine Rodriguez, and Shantal Rodriguez; brother, Manuel Gutierrez; sisters, Eustolia Chavez and Mary Torres. As well as 17 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren
