Celia Guzman became a widow and single mother at the age of 30 with four young children to raise and moved to Artesia, NM. Her faith in God, hard work and determination to provide for herself and children prevailed.
She was known as Grandma or Granny with the exception of Boysis (Benny Guzman III) who fondly called her Graham Cracker. She had a sweet tooth for Hershey/Almond bars and Coca Cola. You often found her with needle and thread in hand. No sewing machine for this grandma. Her quilts and blankets were one of a kind. She enjoyed making baby blankets, pajamas, sock monkeys, small stuffed animals, and doll clothes for grandchildren. She once made a Cabbage Patch doll and named her "Bocha."
We wish to thank J & J Homecare. Special thanks to her compassionate caregiver Rosa Lopez
