Diana was born October 19, 1968 in Big Spring, Texas; the daughter of Eleanor and Vicente Bustamante. When she was a child they moved to Artesia. She enjoyed being a member of the Artesia High School Band where she played the saxophone.

Diana was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and would also attend Trinity Temple. She was a laundry attendant for 15 years at Soft Suds Laundry. She enjoyed spending time with family and especially with her grandbabies, they were her world. She was always doing crafts. She liked fixing things for everyone, and was a talented seamstress. Her love for Winnie the Pooh was unforgettable and her favorite movie was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. She always stayed positive, not a day would go by that she would not be smiling or laughing. The simple things in life meant the most to her. She would want everyone to remember her joy. Her faith in Jesus was a huge part of her life. She honored her parents, she was their caretaker until the end and always made sure they lacked for nothing.

She is survived by her only child Ashley Montoya and husband Gabriel of Artesia, N.M.; grandsons Mateo Ramirez and Jayce Herron; granddaughters Aliezah Bustamante and Alexxxiz Herron all of Artesia; bonus grandchildren Alexis Sosa and husband Carlos of Chaparral, N.M., Carlos Morales of Roswell, N.M., Trae and Tristen Montoya of Las Cruces, and J'ryn Carrasco of Artesia; brothers Silio Bustamante of Bend, Oregon, Vicente Bustamante III of Artesia, Juan Bustamante and wife Martha of Artesia, Lucaz Bustamante and wife Pam of Virginia, and Alcario Bustamante and wife Daisy of Virginia; sister Margaret Bustamante of Artesia; great-granddaughter Emery Sosa.

I am so sorry for the family’s loss Ashley. I have heard amazing and wonderful things about your mother💕. I spent hours talking to my dad the morning of her passing. He always was making sure his little sister was taken care of and hearing some funny stories about them growing up. I could tell she was a bright light in the family and she will be deeply missed. Xoxoxo prayers and hugs 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
