Funeral services for Vera Foster, 90, of Artesia, New Mexico are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 in the Chapel at Terpening & Son Mortuary of Artesia. Mrs. Foster met the eyes of her Lord and Savior Jesus on March 13, 2019 in Artesia, New Mexico. Pastor (and grandson) Jonathan Richard will officiate at the services. Terpening & Son Mortuary of Artesia is handling arrangements.

Vera Mae Foster was born August 31, 1928 to William Luther and Edrie Loma (Frazier) Smith in Randolph, Texas. The family relocated to Lake Arthur, New Mexico shortly after her birth. She married Charles L. Foster on June 28, 1953 in Portales, New Mexico. Vera graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. Vera taught school in Lake Arthur, New Mexico and was a Vice President of the Portales National Bank in Portales. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband - Charles, an infant son – Michael Wayne, and two brothers. She is survived by three children, Matthew and wife Krista of Lubbock, Texas, Charla and husband Bill of Edgewood, New Mexico and Charles H. (Chuck) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, four grandsons and their wives and seven great-grandchildren. A follower of Jesus from childhood, Vera was a talented teacher who impacted many lives with her gentle kindness and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed!

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Foster, Timothy Foster, Johathan Richard, Nathan Richard, Karl Smith, and Steve Smith.
