Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20 at the First United Methodist Church in Artesia, New Mexico for Jason Douglas Bergstrom Cirio.

Mr. Cirio, 33, died April 6, 2017 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Pastor Monty Leavell will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. Burial of the cremated remains will follow the services at Twin Oaks Memorial Park.

Jason was born in Englewood, Colorado on April 20, 1983 to Daniel Charles Cirio and Linda (Bergstrom Cirio) Pastorello.

He was an Artesia resident since 1992 after moving from Virginia. He was an Artesia High School graduate in 2001.

Jason was a foreman crane operator for Mosaic Construction. He was a regular attendee of Centre Ave. Baptist Church, participated in the Elks Lodge, and was part of the United Steel Workers Union.

He was preceded in death by his father, and his maternal & paternal grandparents.

Survivors include his mother Linda Pastorello (Tony); sister Rachel Devereaux and husband Jeff; brothers Dru and Casey Cirio; nieces Madison and Ashley Devereaux; girlfriend Heather Edwards, her daughter Chloe and their son Hayden.

    So sorry for your loss of Jason. I have known him since they came to Artesia. Growing up Rachel was one of my best friends. We sure loved his family. Sending lots of prayers to each of you. So sad to hear the news. Praying they know what happened.

    Words will never be able to express to you all the sadness that we all feel at the passing of Jason. He was always a sweet gentleman when I saw him. I hope and pray that God will give you peace and comfort at this time and in the days to come. I will always remember Jason's smile and his laugh.
