Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, at Terpening & Son Chapel for Ramon Porras Villegas of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Villegas, 73, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Artesia General Hospital Emergency Room.
Moises Gallegos will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Villegas, Fred Torrez, Joseph Torrez, James Torrez, Jimmy Chavez, andJustin Rodriguez.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Ramon was born September 13, 1938 in Marfa, Texas; the son of Juan Villegas and Eulalia (Porras) Villegas. He came to Artesia in 1953 from Texas.
On October 19, 1957 he was married to Emma Balencia Villegas in Artesia. She preceded him in death on January 4, 1994. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother Max Villegas.
Ramon was a Truck Driver for the Navajo Refinery.
Survivors include his daughters Corina Gallegos and husband Moises of Las Vegas, N.M., Lorene Torrez and husband Fred of Artesia, and Rosemary Rodriguez of Artesia; sons Ray Villegas of Artesia, and Sammy Villegas of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters Margie Larranaga of Colorado Springs, CO, Mary Rose Gallegos of Albuquerque, Viola Perez of Artesia, Juanita Molina of Artesia, and Helen Larranaga of Albuquerque; brothers Frank Villegas, Joe Villegas, and Gustavo Villegas all of Albuquerque, and Jessie Villegas of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren Joseph Torrez, James Torrez, Jennifer Torrez, Jimmy Chavez, Justin Rodriguez, and Charlie Jacob Villegas.
