Kimberly Ann Dowlen

Kimberly Ann Dowlen, age 52, a resident of Irving since 1986, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 in a Dallas hospital.

Born October 3, 1959 in Lamesa, Texas, she was the daughter of R. E. Houston and Betty Jo Hill Houston.

On March 29, 1986 in Grand Prairie, Texas, Kimberly married John Dowlen.

Employed by Flowserve in Irving for 6 years, she was formerly employed at Associates Corporation of North America and Citigroup in Irving for 27 years.

She was preceded in death by a nephew, Tommy Sparrow and parents-in-law, J.A. and Frances Dowlen.

Survivors include her husband, John; daughter, Alyssa Dowlen and Brandon Metcalf; son, Clay Dowlen; parents, R.E. and Betty Houston of Lamesa; brothers, Craig Houston and wife Carol of Duffau, and David Houston and wife Donna of Artesia, New Mexico; several nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends. Also surviving are her three dogs, Sadie, Jack and Lady Bug.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 3rd at MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church, 8001 Mustang Drive, Irving, Texas with Dr. David Allen and Pastor Josh Smith officiating. A second memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5th at Northside Baptist Church, 406 North 12th Street in Lamesa, Texas with Pastor Steven Shipley officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
